Does running ‘sudo bleachbit’ from my administrator account also clean all other ‘Desktop user’ accounts? I presume all other administrator accounts are unaffected?

you can also just open up the synaptic package manager and check install. it’s easier than downloading and installing. almost every app can be found in there.

Hi guys!

My problem: I opened up the deb package and I have an error which reads:

Dependency is not satisfiable: menu

I am running eeeBuntu 8.1 (Intrepid) installed on my mini-Asus and have tried installing BB for the simple fact that a mini laptop gets full of temporary files etc rather quickly.

I am no techie or programme bof unfortunately, but I can manage command prompts in a terminal, so if you can help me I would truly appreciate it!

In Ubuntu, go to top, click on “Places”. 2nd from the bottom is “Search for Files. Click there and the open field at the top is called “Name contains”. If you click the “arrow” on the right side, presuming there have been searches before, the prior search terms will appear.

I will get the latest version and test it out tomorrow. Thanks.

The BleachBit version in the Ubuntu repositories is basically frozen because of a Ubuntu policy. Please test the latest version from http://bleachbit.sourceforge.net (.debs available), and if the problem persists, report a bug here http://bleachbit.sourceforge.net/contribute

Also, I am not sure what you mean by “history of “Places > Search for Files > Name Contains””

BB 0.6.3 as found in the Ubuntu repositories. I am beta testing Karmic. I notice it did not clear .bash_history and the history of “Places > Search for Files > Name Contains”. Can you investigate? Thanks.

Thanks a zillion. I have a tiny hard disk and so i constantly run out of space. Thanks for freeing precious 500mb. Can anyone tell me why my HD space decreases automatically, without installing or copying anything at all?

I just installed Jaunty jackalope 9.04 with ext4 file system last night.Installed all my apps and of course Bleachbit from the repo and launched it = 350 MB of junk cleaned after a clean install.
Nice job Andrew,cant wait for the next release body.
