Features
Catfish is a frontend for different search engines (daemons). The interface is intentionally lightweight and
simple, using only GTK+ 2. You can configure it to your needs by using several command line options.
Supported backends
find, (s)locate, doodle, tracker, beagle, strigi and pinot
Install catfish in Ubuntu
Run the following command from your terminal
sudo apt-get install catfish
Using Catfish
You can open catfish from Applications--->Accessories--->Catfish
Once it open you should see similar to the following screen
Here you can use you search terms and limit the search results configuration
Incoming search terms:
- catfish search
- catfish ubuntu
- catfish file search
- catfish find files
- ubuntu find gui
- ubuntu check gui
- file search ubuntu
- Catfish
- ubuntu graphical search tools
