Very Important,

My name is Saliu Yak, originated from Sudan . I want to have a good relationship with you. My father Dr. Justin Yak Arop was the former Minister for SPLA Affairs and Special Adviser to President Salva Kiir of South Sudan for Decentralization.

My father Dr. Justin Yak and my mother including other top Military officers and top government officials had been on board when the plane crashed on Friday May 02, 2008.

You can read more about the crash through the below site:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7380412.stm

After the burial of my father, my uncle conspired and sold my father?s properties to a Chinease Expatriate and lives nothing for me. On a faithful morning, I opened my father's briefcase and found out the documents which he have huge amount of money in Benin Republic with my name as the next of kin. I travelled to Benin Republic to collect the money so that I can start a better life and take care of myself.

On my arrival, i went to the place to collect the fund with a friend of my father live in Benin Republic that i saw his contact inside the briefcase and i called him when i arrived in Benin to follow me to collect the fund and they told us that my father's instruction to
them that the money to be release to me only when I am married or present a trustee who will help me and invest the money in Sudan or overseas which i would like you to assist me because i dont want my father friend in benin republic to receive the fund because of my security purpose and i dont like to live in Benin Republic.

I have chosen to contact you after my prayers and I believe that you will not betray my trust. But rather take me as your own family. Though you may wonder why I am so soon revealing myself to you without knowing you, well, I will say that my mind convinced me that you are the true person to help me.

More so, I will like to disclose much to you if you can help me to relocate to your country because my uncle has threatened to assassinate me. The amount is $21million dollars with the 220 kilo of gold dust . You will also help me to place the money in a more profitable business venture in your Country. However, you will help by recommending a nice University in your country so that I can complete my studies.

It is my intention to compensate you with 25% of the total money for your services and the balance shall be my capital in your establishment. As soon as I receive your interest in helping me, I will put things into action immediately. In the light of the above, I
shall appreciate an urgent message indicating your ability and willingness to handle this transaction sincerely which i would like you to forward me your full information in your next reply including your Phone number and your country. Please do keep this only to your self. I beg you not to disclose it till i come over because I am afraid of my wicked uncle who has threatened to kill me.

Please to my email Address saliuyak@rediffmail.com

Sincerely yours,
Saliu Justin Yak

Works perfectly.. As long as you .. Have no other partitions.. Are using the grub that came with your original installation. And you install this from the deb package from the sourceforge site directly. Haven't used the repositories to install it. When I have, it has caused issues. If you try anything outside those requirements, it may not work. And use 10.10 ubuntu please..

I have made the iso as per the instructions, and it works to go to a live desktop and it has the option on the menu to install but when I click install it defaults back to the live desktop and no installer starts. Booting works fine as live, but installs do not. I used the instructions properly... what might have gone wrong?

I've just made a custom live .iso using remastersys dist, copied it to a USB stick and booted off it.

Everything was going fine until I got to the login screen. I can't get past it. The login info from the original computer doesn't work and I don't know what else to put in.

Any ideas?

Is it possible to convert an Ubuntu 10.04 installation exactly as is to a live version? I need it to autologin and run an application automatically in Gnome.

Also, will it mount the same partitions as it is in the original install? The autorun application will use data in a fat32 partition on the same flash drive, and needs to be modifiable by plugging into a Windows machine. The machine that will run Ubuntu will be subject to power loss every day, and runs with no user intervention. It's a tall order but I need help!

yes you can install Ubuntu and customize it, like theme, background and install some application.
then you can use remastersys and create a costume version of your own Ubuntu.

it is live and installable and a bootable iso

best regards

I am also looking for a way to back up an Ubuntu 10.4 installation. But how can this "Remastersys" back everything up on a CD or DVD? They only hold a few Gb at most. And hard disks in most machines are 40 Gb or much larger. Does it use multiple DVDs in this case? This would mean dozens, in many cases, particularly if your disk is full. It would be much better to back up to am external USB drive, since terabyte drives are now available for $100 or so, and will store more than 200 DVDs worth of data. If "Remastersys" can use an external USB drive as a target for both backup and restore, I would be interested. Another point - does the target system for restore have to be a similar machine? This could be a problem if the original hardware failed or was destroyed in a fire.

So I've created the ISO without a hitch but now I'm stuck at the suggestion of trying it on a virtual machine before burning it. A how-to go from the ISO to running it on a virtual machine (KVM seems nice but I'm open) would be very welcomed.
