another useful application for disk usage it's , an java multi-platform utility that collects several statistics and show them as overview charts (bar, ring and pie) and details tables of the scanned folder sizes. it provide also top 50 files, distribution of sizes, file types and modification dates, etc.

JDiskReport is a freeware "ad-free uncrippled no-charge binary multi-platform software that never expires", and it's very useful!!!

P.S.: I recommend a nautilus-actions entry to make your life easier:
