Filezilla works well, but I prefer Maytech.net because I transfer very large files.

Command to install (at least in Ubuntu 11.4) is:

sudo apt-get install filezilla

Filezilla isn’t as good as WinSCP .. it doesn’t allow you to copy files within the remote directories …

And the best part is you can use WinSCP on wine in ubuntu

Hi.

Filezilla keeps passwords in a plane file. If you export the sites config, you will see the passwods in the genereated XML. Don’t like that.

Anyone knows how to solve this?

FileZilla can’t handle SFTP certificates, only password login so beware - not that useful imho.

hey thanks a bunch! I am using Ubuntu on a Virtual Operating Machine and my computer + ubuntu won’t find each other.

I’ve just installed Ubuntu on my old laptop and am getting it setup. Love FileZilla…and if all I have to type in the terminal is: “sudo aptitude install filezilla” to install it, then I officially love Ubuntu too!
