I love GCStar, I use it to catalog my comic books. I love that it can search an online database and fill in all of the information automatically. I tried several of the collection managers, and I settled on this one. By far the best.

I’ve been using GCStar to manage my movie collection since last June. I had been using Ant Movie Catalog in Windows and I was able to import my AMC database directly. The only problem is the repository will install version 1.5 while the current version of GCstar is 1.6.1. It would be nice to know how to install it on 10.04. The GCstar website provides instructions for Feisty but nothing more recent. I don’t know if that will work on 10.04 and don’t plan to take a chance.

Finally, while the installation procedure above will work, you can install GCstar 1.5 via the “Ubuntu Software Centre” also.
