My first try would be

System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager

1. Uninstall StartUp Manager
2. Install StartUp Manager

I’ve installed the program, but I have half the features showed above… I was looking for the number of kernels option, but in the advanced tab I’ve got only the bootloader resolution and the “create rescue floppy” button… I don’t have the security tab, nor the “show bootloader menu” field; in the appearance tab I can only choose an upsplash theme…

I’m running an Ubuntu Karmic 64 bit, just installed and upgraded…

thanks before for the feed back of my question.

i was acctually looked for to change the Boot queue list. because i wanted windows as the default choosen when first boot.

but the problem already solved. i’ve just need to change the “boot.lst” in the boot folder.

could you tell me, why i cant find the Start-Up Manager?

there is no option for it on my System > Administrator.

Nice.

It doesn’t actually work, but the colors are nice.

I have 2 x 8.10 installed and the latest installed (a fix-the real thingy install, which ended up on /sda6) starts as default, no matter how I change it in StartUp Manager.

SUM doesn’t even show my regular UB /sda8

Setting ‘Last used’ as default doesn’t work either.

Is SUM an 8.04 only thingy?

just curious if anyone knows of a good site for bootloader themes? I’ve downloaded several themes from http://www.gnome-look.org/, but for some apparent reason, i wasn’t able to get the themes to work

thanks, only one question, who can I add more resolutions to StartUp Manager, because I have a notebook with other resolucion and the manager doesn’t show the correct resolution.
