In the beta version I saw text aside the icons. Where did that go? I find these tweaks to little. Where did all the other tweaks go?

I liked your tutorial, thanks

Excellent tutorial, it was very helpful. I use a 26 in monitor so you can imagine how unnecessarily large the Unity icons were. With this I’ve been able to reduce them to the minimum size.
Cheers

On my webbook with 1024×600 screen, the icons are far too large, requiring scrolling to see even the basic list, but changing the value down to 32 or up to 64 in the compiz list has no effect on the icon size.(Edited)
