I just installed Ailurus, THEN uninstalled ubun-student and there seems to be a problem.

The installation was fine, but when I select the program from Applications -> System Tools the splash screen shows and then nothing!

I've tried reinstalling it, but nothing works. I'm using the latest linux 2.6.32 kernel with gnome 2.28.1

First off this is a great program. Closes the gaps for all my friends who use ubuntu.

I just used this to upgrade my Intrepid tablet (stuck with it for finepoint drivers) kernel, and turns out compiz didn't really like that. I'm running Intel graphics so no proprietary drivers here - compiz just stopped working and refuses to run in 2.6.31-6. I also noticed that after it passed GRUB it threw an error about the video resolution. I had it set to a higher resolution (vga=773) and the new kernel doesn't seem to support very many. Compiz is really the only thing keeping me from running the new one. Ah well - 2.6.27 will suit me for now. I might start to attempt to get the tablet working in a more recent version of Linux or Ubuntu.

Dear tz, to download the package from Firefox is also feasible.

Dear Moh, "Ubun-student" cannot be automatically updated to "Ailurus" :(
Please run
'sudo apt-get remove ubun-student -qq'
Then install Ailurus.

Why do you have to use wget on the command line when the URL will download (and optionally open with gdebi) from the firefox browser?
