Linux* graphics is an ongoing field of interest at Intel’s Open Source Technology Center (OTC). Community contributions range from driver development and refinement to widespread project involvement, with a particular focus on advancing standards for Open Source graphics. Current OTC graphics work covers a broad range of efforts and projects, such as: :

Kernel driver is the core of the Intel Linux Graphics project, being responsible for all interactions with the hardware, driving different video outputs, mode setting, and converting bits into on-screen visible pixels.
Mesa is the library responsible for 3D rendering, OpenGL compatibility, GLES and all the 3d-related components of Graphics on Linux and Unix systems
XF86-Video-Intel, also known as DDX is the driver responsible for the 2D rendering within the X window system
LibDRM is the middleware responsible for conversations between user applications and kernel driver itself
Cairo Graphics is the 2D rendering and acceleration library
VA API is the part of the stack responsible for hardware-accelerated video rendering, pre- and post-processing and output
Wayland is the ongoing research project on next generation of window systems and composers

Warning:- After installing these drivers your system may be unusable so install them with your own risk

Install Intel(R) Linux* Graphics drivers on ubuntu 13.04

In order to "trust" the Intel® Linux Graphics Installer, you will need to add keys to Ubuntu's software package manager ("apt"). Open a terminal, and execute these line:

wget --no-check-certificate https://download.01.org/gfx/RPM-GPG-KEY-ilg -O -- | \

sudo apt-key add -

wget --no-check-certificate https://download.01.org/gfx/RPM-GPG-KEY-ilg-2 -O -- | \

sudo apt-key add -

Now you need to download the installer deb package for your architecture (32- or 64-bits) from here

Once you have deb packageto install double click on it after installation run the following command from your terminal

intel-linux-graphics-installer

    Well I was hopeful that the HP Laptop in the house with an Intel i3-2328M processor that I would finally be able to boot Ubuntu without the “nomodeset” kernel boot option but no such luck. Makes me think twice about getting any intel cpu’s with built in graphics… No issues with AMD APU series processors and Ubuntu as of yet…
    Also, tried importing the keys via command line to no avail.. ended up saving via a web browser then importing the keys… not sure why but via command line it didn’t recognize it as a valid gpg key.

    hi, I have install ubuntu 13.04 32-bit. I wanted to install grphic driver. but intel linux manager, cannot recognize my graphic card and arrise an error that says you have not intel graphic card!!!
    I have a netbook Sumsung N100 (intel GMA3150)
    What should I do?

    I’m getting the following errors:
