If you are running ubuntu 12.04(precise) and one thing you might have noticed from your unity is missing Dodge Windows behavior.
Another feature users really like is the ability to be able to click a program's icon on the Launcher and minimize/unminimize that window. Jonathan French (ojno), the developer behind this patch, has not only made this a reality, but also got this to work in conjunction with the ‘Spread Windows' functionality. He's even set up a PPA which contains the latest Unity and his patch to make it easier for end-users to get it.
Thanks to isaacj87 ubuntuforum user for creating PPA for this
This PPA works 32-bit and 64-bit users
PPA installation instructions

Agreed. No idea why this was removed (apparently it’s confusing for new users). And apparently the min, max, close buttons moving with the window when maximized and unmaximized when the menu does not move along with it is not confusing for new users???

I completely agree with both of you. Thanks again for whoever did this, I actually found unity pretty useless without this functionality.

I personnaly prefer to use Cairo-Dock to have a great dock with those features natively included.
