The plugin 'mozilla-mplayer' does not get along with the 'totem-mozilla' that may be installed by default. Therefore, remove it.

sudo apt-get remove totem-mozilla

Nevermind. Turns out I had a problem with my libx264-67 library. I uninstalled it, uninstalled mplayer completely, and reinstalled. Good to go, thanks!

Upgraded to Karmic from Jaunty tonight. In Jaunty, I had no problems playing wmv, flv, etc files in MPlayer. After upgrade, I cannot. I tried what is proposed in this article (even tried reinstalling mplayer, w32codecs, etc) with no luck.

I took a look at medibuntu's site, and it appears that they do not have the karmic version of mplayer up yet, so I wonder if that's the reason.

Any ideas?
