Hi, VLC 2.1.0 available only for 13.10 and not for 13.04.
here list from PPA:
vlc 2.1.0+git20131002+r121-0~r107~ubuntu13.10.1 Videolan (1 hour ago)
vlc 2.0.8+git20130930+r616-0~r51~ubuntu13.04.1 Videolan (2013-09-30)
vlc 2.0.8+git20130930+r616-0~r51~ubuntu12.10.1 Videolan (2013-09-30)
This ppa does not contain vlc version 2.1.0. It contains a “daily build of stable branch”. This is something different.
I agree. I added the videolan/stable-daily ppa and the version I got after doing an apt-get update and apt-get install vlc was 2.0.9-2flower. Has 2.1 been uploaded yet?
Hi everyone,
Today VLC 2.1 is still NOT available for Ubuntu 13.10 through this PPA!
I did run the indicated commands and I just received 2.0.9 “Twoflower”, not the 2.1.x.
We are now next to late november and a simple search on Google shows that there is still a problem between VLC and Ubuntu…… All other distros and even Windows and mac OS X do run VLC 2.1.x but not Ubuntu. Why? This is a very good question.
regards,
Johan
