One that you’ve omitted is atunes http://www.atunes.org/
At the moment it’s the only player that seems to cope with large collections (ie 40,000+ songs)
All the others that I’ve tried, including most on this list, just roll over and die.
Ironically, amarok 1.4 copes well with the size of my collection, while amarok 2.x doesn’t!

it uses the QT-library.

it is like winamp/xmms but it is in the standard repositories (not like xmms, which I however prefer)
