Music Applet – GNOME panel applet to control several music players

Music Applet is a small, simple GNOME panel applet that lets you control a variety of different music players from the panel. Music Applet provides easy access to information about the current song and the most important playback controls.

Music Applet currently supports the following music players:

  2. The Music Applet was working wonderfully in Jaunty, but is only working with a couple of the programs listed in the plugins under Karmic. Even the ones that are “working” are intermittently doing nothing, arrrgh.

    Par for the course for Ubuntu, I guess, is that we’re using 2.5.0 even though 2.5.1 has been out for almost a year. The author ended the project entirely months ago in favor of an improved alternative called Panflute — current release 0.5.3 — which currently isn’t available in the repos for Ubuntu or GetDeb. Sigh.
