Unfortunately, Pidgin does not support voice calls. why don’t you try skype, it has a version runs on ubuntu, or you can try yahoo for linux…

actually, no they DO NOT keep promising it. In fact they’ve repeatedly said how they have NO interest in providing video/voice chat.
A more exciting project is the empathy/telepathy/libjingle project, whereby IM, video and voice will be integrated into the gnome environment. This will also be available as a separate program of course, but sadly just for linux.

Nope… no voice/video in Pidgin just yet. They keep promising it, but not delivering.

m planning to put pidgin in a cyber cafe environment, does it have full support for voice calls over vendor platforms like yahoo, gmail , msn?
