Love the wasp-hard window theme. Background is no good. I think this window system is sleek and understandable for new Ubuntu users.

I have to point out that there is no such language as “African”. Africa is a large continent, not a country, and there are hundreds of ethnic groups, languages and cultures here.

“African” is not a language. The correct term is Afrikaans, a descendent of Dutch. It’s like German vs Germanic.

Every one of these new themes is so minutely different from the others that they all look the same. It’s like they modify a couple of pixels here and there and “bingo, a new theme!”

How about a radical redesign for the LTS releases? Something that actually looks different.

I definitely like the wasp-dark theme. It reminds me a bit about the zbrush interface theme. And there needs to be a good alternative to the brownish theme that is the default now. Right now I’m using a theme that was presented on ubuntugeek a couple of weeks ago called tropico something. The thing is that it’s really just the top boarder that has the nice dark touch and not the whole windows as this has. If the end result will look as good as it seems to I will, no doubt, use it. Great work!

great…as long as previous options are available…i’m beginning to think whether or not a new theme every release is needed? I like the idea of having a new theme to inspire a new release - just allow people to have older options - some people prefer to keep it the same.

I’ve always been a big Ubuntu fan, however the whole brownish theme they’ve always used is really butt ugly. I’d say the vast majority of users would agree with that. Perhaps they could give theme choices during setup: Blues, Greens, or Browns. Then everyone would stop complaining about the extra time it takes to remove all of the brown ugliness after installation.

Whats this crap about too much brown? Its a wallpaper… Windows has too much blue on their windows 7 wallpaper. Change the thing and move on people. It not like anything radical is going to happen in Lucid anyway its an LTS.
