Pinta 1.2 released and PPA installation instructions included

Pinta is a free, open source drawing/editing program modeled after Paint.NET. Its goal is to provide users with a simple yet powerful way to draw and manipulate images on Linux, Mac, and Windows.

What is new in 1.2

New text option: fill background
Added image preview to Images pad
Added autocrop feature
properly proportioned interface
reducing the toolbar buttons’ size

Install Pinta 1.2 in ubuntu 11.10

Open the terminal and run the following commands

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pinta-maintainers/pinta-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pinta

For ubuntu 12.04 users

Download .deb file from here.Once you have deb package you can double click on it to install this package.
