Radio Tray – Online radio streaming player

Radio Tray is an online radio streaming player that runs on a Linux system tray. Its goal is to have the minimum interface possible, making it very straightforward to use.
Radio Tray is not a full featured music player, there are plenty of excellent music players already. However, there was a need for a simple application with minimal interface just to listen to online radios. And that's the sole purpose of Radio Tray.

Radio Tray is Free Software, licensed under the GPL.

Features

* plays most media formats (based on gstreamer libraries)
* bookmarks support, with sorting
* easy to use
* supports PLS playlist format (Shoutcast/Icecast)
* supports M3U playlist format
* supports ASX, WAX and WVX playlist format

  1. I discovered RadioTray just a week ago and that is exactly what I’ve been looking for for a long time. It’s light on resources and it does what it’s meant to do: play radio.
    VLC for movies, QuodLibet for my music collection, RadioTray for radio, and I’m rock & rolling!

  2. Please lets try to explain to people that they can find these things using the Ubuntu Software Center rather than simply providing links to a deb or at the very least use apt:// links…

  3. Hello, i’m having problems with playing my own station in radiotray. I configured I added the name and the URL (http://www.techwebsound.com/TWOS.pls) -I think this is what i’m supposed to enter there.
    When i try to tune it i receive a message saying:
    “the stream is of a different type than handled by this element”
    I don’t know what i have to configure. Help please.

  5. It no longer works. Since shoutcast moved, none of the links preset or any from shoutcast work on radiotray. I have 0.7.2 installed.

  6. @VDMX is this your database or did you obtain it from another source? I would like to write up a little blurb about RadioTray and include a link to the database as it was well put together.

    Hello Rick, this is my playlist. When the new upgrade will be ready, I’ll post the new link.
    I’m just searching new streams.

    Best regards.
