Tivion is a simple streaming player for TV online. It’s a program that I develop with Python using the GTK library, PyGTK and the backend of player Mplayer. This is the official page of news recopilations for the program.

Tivion plays some streaming TV and radio and Sopcast channels available. For the moment, 697 channels from 67 countries.

You can check the full chanel list from here

Install Tivion in ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid)

Open the terminal and run the following command

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:shakaran/ppa

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install tivion

    Hello there,

Is it possible to install this in Maverick? I am supposing the ppa has no 10.04 packages. When I try to update after adding it I get:

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/shakaran/ppa/ubuntu/dists/maverick/main/source/Sources.gz 404 Not Found

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/shakaran/ppa/ubuntu/dists/maverick/main/binary-amd64/Packages.gz 404 Not Found

Please do let us know if it is or will be possible, it looks great!

    Cheers…

    worked for me with maverick.

But the video is blinking… disabling compiz seems necessary for me to use it correctly.
