Kate Stewart of the Ubuntu release team has announced the release of Natty Narwhal Alpha 1. Natty is the most anticipated Ubuntu version as it will replace Gnome Shell with Unity in the desktop environment. The ‘old' Gnome desktop environment is now called ‘Ubuntu Desktop Classic'. We will soon be publishing first glance of Natty Alpha 1.

    Got this up and running in it’s own little partition. Installed real nice. However after restart got black. So restarted in Recovery; and it made some necessary changes and ran an update. After reboot loaded fine. It’ a little different. No main menus yet but you can get all applications by clicking little Ubuntu logo. Have fun. Synaptic and Software Center are fully avaliable. There are about 25Mb of updates.
