dkpg was interrupted, you must manually run ‘sudo dkpg --conigure -a’ to correct the problem.

can’t install any of those players. i always get that response. how do i fix this? pls help

I think VLC media player is the best all round plays music and video about every file type imaginable, for music management(200 gigs of Mp3′s} my vote is for Quod Libet plus you can edit metadata!

i think mplayer is the great player for all linux profession level users just like VLC media player in Windows it plays all format videos & audios as well

i use quodlibet to manage and play songs from my library.. library with nearly 30k+ songs quodlibet manages the database very fluently, unlike amarok! its a really great piece of software and works like charm! some features are equalizer presets is missing,. but they’d too be added soon!

i use audacious to play song instantly, e.g to check out a track i just downloaded! it is quick and lightweight!

Audacious was a perfect player that I was looking for! It’s simple yet powerful, highly customizable, and fast.

I’m very happy that now I don’t have to rely on Amarok anymore..
One of the worst parts of Amarok for me was the fact that it always added to the playlist if I double-click from nautilus, instead of playing immediately. It was just so “stubborn”.

Vallen JPegger also plays music and is an image viewer as well ,it’s freeware but no version for Linux so needs Wine to run.

I’m interested in quality of sound. A mp3 player should give me the best sound possible, not the myriad of options I will never use. Please comment on sound quality, i.e. is there any difference between these aforementioned players. If there is no sound difference why not simply use the Rythmbox that comes with Hardy already?
