I suggest you comment out the lines rather than deleting. If the fix doesn’t work and the user wan’t to roll back then there is no rollback path if the text is deleted.

If you don’t want to reboot you may also restart the alsa driver like this

sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils stop

sudo alsa force-reload

sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils start

Klart, no reboot required =)

@ T4b. if you go to the site where the credits is. ( from the author of this post) scroll down and you will see a post by me (linuxgeek77) on how to update your alsa drivers. if you follow that it will fix your problem. the post is located here:

You can either comment it out with # or delete it. it is the same concept. I dont like to waste bytes:P so i deleted it.

That doesn’t work for me. When I comment the lines out nothing changes and when I delete the lines the crackling noise disappear but the rest of the sound too.
