Sorry in my 4th sentence I meant the release notes not upgrade manager. Ok. Just my little “train-of-thought” error over in my last comment. Guess I should have reread it before sending.

Ok, the Alt+F2 thing worked.
The command was awesome.
The upgrade button for 7.10 came up too.
But when I clicked on it, it said that it couldn’t show the update manager because of an overload thingamig.

You’re article is excellent but can you please help me with my problem.

I can see the phrase “New distribution release 7.10 is available” but I can’t find the release notes? What should i do?

Similar to Geoff Scales quoted above I do not get “New distribution release ‘7.10? is available. - Upgrade” on the Upgrade Manager screen. What should I do?

Is the upgrade process the same for 7.10 to 8.04
are there chances if data losses during the process.

I went to Upgrade Manager, as per the above.

The phrase - “New distribution release ’7.10′ is available. - Upgrade” is not on the Upgrade Manager screen, as per the screen shot.

Previously I have been here to check it out and it was. Has the upgrade process changed?
