DayFolder – Clear and organize what’s on your desktop

DayFolder for Ubuntu.

Here’s what it does:

Takes the files from your desktop and moves them to a directory named with the day’s date in your specified “DayFolder” directory.
Do this from the application indicator in the panel of the desktop.
Change the directory your daily DayFolder is created.
Choose between a daily, weekly, or monthly folder to help organize the way you want.
Set specific destinations for single file types (for example, you can have all your .png files be moved to your Pictures folder).

Install dayfolder in ubuntu 12.04 (Precise)

Open the terminal and run the following commands

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:thejambi/thejambi
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install dayfolder

Note:- This application is still in development so this might give some issues

Once installed dayfolder application you can search dayfolder from dash

Once it open you should see dayfolder icon in your notification area
