How to install firefox 6 on ubuntu

Firefox (formerly known as Phoenix and Firebird) is a redesign of the Mozilla browser component. It is similar to Galeon, K-Meleon, and Chimera, but it is written using the XUL user interface language and was designed to be cross-platform.

The latest version of Firefox has the following changes:

Fixed several security issues

Install firefox 6 on ubuntu

Open the terminal and run the following commands

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

Localize your firefox 6 using the following command

sudo apt-get install firefox-locale-$code

where code is the two-letter symbol of your language.

    just tape

    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get upgrade

    Just download and unpack from the official site or go to and grab it from there. It’s alot fast than the repos 😉

    personally rather sudo aptitude install firefox
    instead of sudo apt-get upgrade.
    skips unwanted upgrades.

    I like this! Mint 9 would only update Firefox to 3.6.22, which is sort of old. Later versions of Mint/Ubuntu updates FF to a current version.

    Or like Alexandr said, you can always use Google Chrome, it’s faster anyway.

    Hello guys I have a linux ubuntu 10.10 vps located in germany , I tried this list of commands but no way . eg : when i tried the first command it appeared to me this message :
