Install VLC 2.0.1 in ubuntu 12.04/11.10
Open the terminal and run the following commnads
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:videolan/stable-daily
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vlc
2.0.1 is in the default Precise repo. No need for a PPA.
There is no vlc for natty. Try ppa:admo/videolan:)
Since installing Ubuntu 12.04, there seems to be no way to open vlc while playing music (Only have basic control under Ubuntu’s audio icon).. Movies work fine however (I’m able to manually select a time in a movie). Any way to fix this? Anyone else with the same problem?
