NeverNote – A clone of Evernote designed to run on Linux

This is an open source clone of Evernote designed to run on Linux.  It is written in Java so it will also run on Windows & OS-X, but the primary focus has been to try and get a usable environment for Linux.  While this is designed to work with Evernote, it is in no way connected with or supported by Evernote.  Any problems you encounter will not be corrected by them and, since this is GPL software, you are using this software at your own risk.

People have used this with both 64 & 32 bit versions of Linux as well as OpenJDK & Sun's Java and (so far) have not encountered any problems with these different environments

This app has suffered a bad case of timing, since Evernote 4 was out two days ago and works perfectly in linux with wine…

@Ernest: Still doesn’t matter… this has what matters to me… Open source and I can run it myself. I don’t care to be tied to a service and a company that I have zero control over. This is no matter how cool or better features it may have….

I’ve been using Nevernote for a couple of months now and am very impressed with its features and performance. I’ve also tried using the original Evernote 4, running under WINE, but found that there were some minor display issues that put me off. Nevernote is a terrific app and saves hours of time when clipping notes from web pages.
