I'm currently running Windows 7 x64 with the latest version of VirtualBox.When i try to boot the ubuntu 14.10 gnome 64-bit version .iso file it will get through the inital Ubuntu 14.10 loading screen and i am seeing the following screen followed by blank screen
Solution
You need to press Ctrl+Alt+F1 key combination and you should see similar to the following screen
Now press Ctrl+Alt+F7 this should get you the installation screen
On Kubuntu 14.04,with Vbox Ctrl+F1/F7 did the trick. Using alt invoked the command on the host machine, at least in my case.
Thanks for sharing this tip.
Thanks for this!
Thank you for this solution!
What if your host is Linux? Ctrl/Alt F1/F7 is processed by the host not the VM.
If your host is Linux, you can use the host-F1/F7 (host key defaults to Right Ctrl).
Thanks for the tip. Worked as Chris posted for my linux install.
thanks life saver 🙂
