Install GNOME Tweak Tool on ubuntu
Open the terminal and run the following commands
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/testing
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool

Just one question: Does this application basically change settings, like listed in the gconf-editor, or does this one more?
On my Debian Sid system, this tool changes some things but now they do not stick. Logging out and in again changes nothing. I guess it’s still early because Python crashes trying to list shell extensions.
