Google Music Frame 0.1 released and PPA installation instructions included
Google Music Frame runs Google Music web interface in its own window and provides integration with Ubuntu (sound menu and notifications). It also remembers last session and the current view (album, genre list, ...).
Install Google Music Frame on ubuntu 11.04(Natty)
Open the terminal and run the following commands
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:janousek.jiri/google-music-frame-releases
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install google-music-frame
Screencast Video
Hi! while running the last command I receive an error:
“Unable to locate package google-music-frame”. Does anybody know what the problem is? Thanks. Alex.
looks pretty cool but i get a 404 error…W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/janousek.jiri/google-music-frame-releases/ubuntu/dists/maverick/main/binary-i386/Packages.gz 404 Not Found
@Alex, it does not appear to work in Maverick, but it works fine in Natty. I even changed the URL to this: http://ppa.launchpad.net/janousek.jiri/google-music-frame-maverick/ubuntu , but it did help. I don’t believe any other platforms are supported.
above comment should read, but changing the URL DID NOT help.
@Gemneye, thank you for the reply. I will try it again when upgrade to 11.04

Awesome! crashes every 10 or 15 minutes for me, though. I know it’s only version 0.1 so it’s not completely unexpected.
@Tyler
You should file a bug report
https://bugs.launchpad.net/google-music-frame/+filebug
There was already one issue with crashing, but the problem was buggy Flash, not GMF.
@sdredwingsfan
Maverick/Oneiric packages will come with release 0.2. They’re already available in Daily Builds PPA at https://code.launchpad.net/~janousek.jiri/+archive/google-music-frame-daily
