Google Web Office -- GWoffice -- brings your google drive to your dektop. It offers you a nice interface to its editing abilities and also gives you basic syncing for offline use.

Install GWoffice in ubuntu

Open the terminal and run the following commands

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tombeckmann/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gwoffice

    i got it installed on 12.04 classic but after it opens and I click on create document it immediately crashes.

    I’m having the same issue. GWoffice crashes when trying to create a new document or open an existing one.

    I’ve got the same problem. Just try to open existing document and GWOffice will be crashed:-(
