I really like this idea in general, but isn’t there some program that would include a set of wallpapers to choose from or, at least, is it possible to replace the current wallpapers with my own?
[Reply]
I found day-of-ubuntu.xml and day-of-ubuntu folder in /usr/share/backgrounds. Seems it’d probably be easy to create own sets of backgrounds. Thanks for the post.

so let me get this str8. some of you are running linux, but don’t know how to change the background? am i the only one who finds that odd

Very nice wallpaper…i love it

Excuse my ignorance, but how do you process the .xml file so that the .jpg files rotate during the day ? Isn’t that the purpose of this package ?
[Reply]
in 9.10 The ‘wallpapers’ can be contained in a directory, with a .xml file that defines how/when they change. This package is a set of wallpapers and a xml file that sets when they change.
[Reply]
I understand and see that. I am using kubuntu which allows for a list of graphic images to be rotated as a background image. I don’t see how I can use the .xml file in that situation. Does the gnome desktop (ubuntu) do something differently with the .xml for a background desktop ?

I too had a problem getting this setup at first. As KruyKaze said, it is in appearance; but mine was about 1/3 down the screen. I noticed it because it had a next button below the picture and the thumbnail was “stacked” indicating more than one image. Hope this helps anyone else that was as confused as I was.

Any way to get these working in 9.04?
