The gksu extension for nautilus allows you to open files with administration privileges using the context menu when browsing your files with nautilus.
Install nautilus gksu extension in ubuntu
Open the terminal and run the following command
sudo apt-get install nautilus-gksu
Screenshot
Doesn’t work anymore
It is working (10.11) if you use Terminal, instead Alt+F2, and type the same
gksu nautilus
Request pw and remains the entire section.
Btw: the screenshot, as per the post, does not show.

This page was about the nautilus gksu extension, but it is no longer available.
Sadly not working in 12.04 it seems!
davemet@Shed:~$ sudo apt-get install nautilus-gksu

Package nautilus-gksu is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package ‘nautilus-gksu’ has no installation candidate
davemet@Shed:~$
Any ideas please!
Thanks
