netspeed - Traffic monitor applet for GNOME

Traffic monitor applet for GNOME.Netspeed is an applet that shows how much traffic occurs on a specified network device (ethernet card, wireless LAN card, or dial-up).

Install netspeed in Ubuntu

sudo aptitude install netspeed

This will complete the installation.

Configuring Netspeed

If you want to add netspeed to to your desktop.Right click on the free area of the upper panel and select “Add to Panel”.

Once it opens you should see similar to the following screen here you need to select Add “System Monitor” and “Network Monitor” and click on add

If you want to configure system monitor select System Monitor and right click select preferences

Here you can select which options you want to disply

If you want to configure Network Monitor select System Monitor and right click select preferences
