This tutorial will explain how to fix Firefox slow problem in ubuntu 10.04(Lucid)

Open your Firefox and type about:config at URL address bar and hit enter. To make a False into True, select the line to change, and double click. On the 2nd option change, right click and select Modify

- network.http.pipelining > Make it True

- network.http.pipelining.maxrequests > Make it 8 or 10

- network.http.proxy.pipelining > Make it True

- network.dns.disableIPv6 > Make it True

I hope this helps for some users

That is a fantastic fix!! Glad you posted this. What I can’t understand is why these settings are not the defaults. Firefox on Windows does not have this problem. Seems like this needs to be changed in the Linux version.

THIS IS A HELL OF A FIX !

Strugglin’ for months with this problem and it seemed to get slower from day to day. Till yesterday, when webbrowsing was totaly shutdown.

Wasn’t able to identify the problem. Thought it was a networking problem in the wifi or something.

    Keep publishing fixes. Damn importend.

    Thank You!

    This DOES work!

    For a while I thought:

Firefox – find link in 1 sec, load page in 5 min
Chrome – load page in 1 sec, find link in 5 min

With this fix firefox has become the best again! Don’t switch to chrome (for speed reasons) before you’ve tried this!!!

    Thanks!!!!
