  3. That is a fantastic fix!! Glad you posted this. What I can’t understand is why these settings are not the defaults. Firefox on Windows does not have this problem. Seems like this needs to be changed in the Linux version.

  4. Fantastic, it now works. I have been using Chromium but i have missed firefox as its been boken for over a year. (10.04 and 10.10) Fix works a treat.

Strugglin’ for months with this problem and it seemed to get slower from day to day. Till yesterday, when webbrowsing was totaly shutdown.

Wasn’t able to identify the problem. Thought it was a networking problem in the wifi or something.

    Thank You!

  7. Man, you are a godsend! I can now download my podcasts in style. Works great on 9.10.

  8. This DOES work!

    For a while I thought:

Firefox – find link in 1 sec, load page in 5 min
Chrome – load page in 1 sec, find link in 5 min

With this fix firefox has become the best again! Don’t switch to chrome (for speed reasons) before you’ve tried this!!!
