    This one appears to work:

    @ bijay rungta

    go to this page:

    http://keyserver.ubuntu.com:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xB9F1C432AE74AE63

copy the whole text and paste it into an empty file.

then go to system -> administration -> software sources.

click on authentication tab -> import key file.

select the file you just saved.

    update your sources.

Another great howto. Thanks so much!

  11. denaje says:

Thank you so much! Amarok 2 has done nothing but give me problems and made me wish for dropped features, but now I have my old Amarok back! Thanks!

  12. Arturo Ochoa says:

Fantastic, it worked for me. Thank you very much.
I have stopped playing music in my Ubuntu machine because I couldn’t deal with the interface of Amarok 2. It was just

How did it happen that such a good program did so badly on its big upgrade?

  13. Mario says:

    Gracias, me funciono muy bien

    THX.

  14. Tim says:

Hi! Everything works fine, but some time ago my Amarok stopped playing mp3 files… I do not know what’s the problem.

  15. Pete Nelson says:

Beautiful!!! I loved Amarok, but they just killed the poor thing (bloated to death) in version 2. I’ve been using Rhythmbox and suffering through it’s podcast problems … it will be so nice to have a working, full-featured (podcasts, music library, etc) music player again.

  16. jevon says:

Thanks man!!! this worked like a charm^_^
@ Pete Nelson – rythmbox is a real pain in the ass… i actually started coding my personal media player, now that amarok is baq i can rest a bit and think bout nice features for it

  17. Tim says:

I fixed my problem with deleting /home/user/.xine/

  18. Whorider says:

Can you update this for Karmic? That PPA doesn’t contain any karmic .debs.

  19. Pete says:

    @ Whorider
Worked just fine for me in Karmic?

  20. There is a Karmic repository for all things KDE3 (including Amarok 1.4!) here: https://launchpad.net/~kde3-maintainers/+archive/ppa

    Simply install amarok-kde3.

  21. isaaclw says:

in Karmic I had to run:
    sudo aptitude purge amarok amarok-utils

    before it would fully install.

  22. ink says:

    THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! GOSH I LOVE AMAROK1.4!!! (version 2 stiks -_- )

  23. Andrew P. says:

Now, if someone could come up with a way for Amarok 1.4 Handbook to be accessible from the F1 key or the Help menu while running in Gnome. Better yet, how about a version of Amarok that is ported to Gnome and uses the Gnome “Yelp” help browser? I’ve tried various media players available for Linux and they all fall short of Winamp 2.78 on Windows, and that program was released about 10 years ago! Pathetic.

Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you are my personal hero now XD
