Have fun
max.
Kalpik, oh sorry I didn’t see that, I add a link to your page as well.
How did you manage to compile the plugin pack source in ubuntu ?
Whoah! Thanks big time for this! It worked in my kubuntu just fine. It’s the first time I’ve been in MSN on Ubuntu in a long long time.
Does this install Pidgin on top of Gaim which comes with Ubuntu? I have Gaim installed from Ubuntu 6.10 and recently upgraded to 7.04. I read somewhere that Pidgin replaces certain Gaim files. Do I need to uninstall Gaim first before installing Pidgin? And if I uninstall Gaim, it also removes 2 other packages (ubuntu-desktop or something). Could someone please help?
You have to uninstall GAIM. If you run the install it will tell you.
BTW: Author should update the wget to get the new version.
Ok thanks. I uninstalled Gaim and installed Pidgin without any problems. I would like to install a particular plugin though (pidgin-rhythmbox). I downloaded the pluging in .tar.gz format but I have no idea how to install it. Could someone please help?
the address in the wget command is out of date, i had to update it fromt eh link provided. also, you should tell people to unistall gaim before they do this, as i had conflict issue.
basic stuff, but might be pretty anoying for your new “copy & paste” users 🙂
ermmm the plugins give a 403 forbiddon
