Install Rapid photo downloader in Ubuntu 10.04/9.10

Open the terminal and run the following comamnds

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dlynch3
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install rapid-photo-downloader

    This is a waste of bandwidth!
    Use nautilus file manager to perform all this actions without hassle and more transparency.
    Even a novice sees the CF or SD card appearing on his/her desktop: one click( or a dubble one of you like) and of one goes!

    IMHO this software can be extremely useful. As a photographer I like to have some EXIF fields (aperture, shutter time, etc.) in my picture’s file names. This software can also create directories according to the date the pictures were taken.

    So if you’re a casual photographer this software may be an overkill, but if you take lots of pictures this is a must-have !
