What is new in virtualbox 4.3.8

This is a maintenance release. The following items were fixed and/or added:

VBoxSVC: documented the handling of host power management events (see the manual for more information) and added an extradata item for configuring the handling of the battery-low event (bug #9925)
VBoxSVC: fixed a bug which could trigger a crash if a VM snapshot was restored the second time and the VM has associated bandwidth groups (bug #12569)
VBoxSVC: properly detect ifconfig if located in /bin (bug #12713)

Guest Control: fixed setting and using a guest user's process environment variables
Linux Additions: support Enterprise Linux 6.5 kernels (bug #12505)
Linux Additions: fixed CPU hot-remove on newer Linux kernels
Linux / Solaris Additions: don't automount a shared folder which is already mounted
X11 Additions: support X.Org Server 1.15 (bug #12623)

Install VirtualBox 4.3.8 on ubuntu 13.10/13.04/12.10

Open the terminal and run the following commands

You need to edit /etc/apt/sources.list

gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

For ubuntu 13.10 users add the following line

deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian saucy contrib

For ubuntu 13.04 users add the following line

deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian raring contrib

For ubuntu 12.10 users add the following line

deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian quantal contrib

If you are running ubuntu 12.04 add the following line

deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian precise contrib

Save and exit the file

Now install PGP key using the following command

wget -q http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian/oracle_vbox.asc -O- | sudo apt-key add --

Update source list

sudo apt-get update

Install virtualbox

sudo apt-get install virtualbox-4.3

If you have problem with the above PPA you can download .deb package from here.Once you have deb package you can double click on it to install this package.

    Installing the extpack may be done with the following command. Feel free to replace the * with the proper file name.
    VBoxManage extpack install Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.3.*.vbox-extpack

    Finally, Virtualbox recommends installing dkms.
    sudo apt-get install dkms
