Trimage – A cross-platform tool for losslessly optimizing PNG and JPG files
Trimage is a cross-platform GUI and command-line interface to optimize image files via optipng, advpng and jpegoptim, depending on the filetype (currently, PNG and PG files are supported). It was inspired by imageoptim. All image files are losslessy compressed on the highest available compression levels. Trimage gives you various input functions to fit your own workflow: A regular file dialog, dragging and dropping and various command line options.
Install Trimage in ubuntu 10.04/9.10
Open the terminal and run the following commands
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kilian/trimage
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install trimage

very unstable
Great first result: an header image (PNG) of a website was compressed to 50%!
Thanks for sharing this!
Let’s try this thingy
But: it replaces the origin files without prompt. I’m unsure if that’s a nice feature.
@floxx Right, i like to have the control. But the compression is lossless, so i can live with it.
I am using trimage since some time now and really like it in my every day web developers work.
Today i installed it on my new laptop and i am wondering why it needs libmysqlclient16 and other MySQL packages?
